Car insurance companies base your rate on several factors, and they don’t all look at those factors in the same way. One might see your location or driving history as being more important than other companies do and charge you more because of it. Or a company may give you a lower rate than its competitors because of your history of not filing claims.

This is why you should compare car insurance quotes from a number of companies before you buy or renew a policy.

State Farm is the best company for Ford car insurance. Its rates are the cheapest for almost all of the Ford models we included in our survey.

State Farm also seems to make its customers happy, based on its good complaint rating from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and good customer satisfaction score from J.D. Power.

Our team of insurance experts rated insurance companies based on several categories. These categories include average rates, discounts, coverage options, third-party customer service ratings and app/website experience. We weighted these categories based on what customers value in an insurance company.

For third-party customer service ratings, we included Complaint Index scores from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and financial strength ratings from A.M. Best. NAIC Complaint Index scores are used to determine how satisfied customers are with their claims, while financial strength ratings from A.M. Best reflect the ability to pay out claims.
