Comparing car insurance quotes side by side helps you see which company will give you the best price. This is because what you pay for car insurance is based on many factors, like your age, your driving history and where you live.

State Farm might be the cheapest for you based on those factors, but it also could be another company.

For the cheapest car insurance for a Hyundai Nexo Blue, get a quote from Progressive. Its average rate over the last three model years is $2,276 a year.

Progressive’s rate is 14% cheaper than second-place Travelers ($2,657 a year). State Farm is close behind at $2,672 a year.

Another reason to choose Progressive over some other car insurance companies is that it lets you customize your policy more than most of its competitors. You’ll usually have to pay for these add-ons, but it could be worth it to get the coverage you want.

State Farm is the best company for Hyundai car insurance. It has some of the best insurance rates for all of the Hyundai vehicle models we surveyed. State Farm also offers many discounts that could make your payment even lower, plus customers rate it well for service and satisfaction.

Travelers comes in a close second, though, so you should also consider it if you’re looking for the best Hyundai car insurance. Its rates compete with State Farm’s for most Hyundai models — and in some cases are cheaper. As a bonus, Travelers receives few customer complaints.

Members of the military and their families should get quotes from USAA, as well. It has the cheapest rates for some Hyundai car models and among the cheapest for others. Also, USAA’s reputation for customer service is unparalleled.

Hyundai car insurance isn’t overly expensive compared to insurance for similar vehicle makes and models. In fact, the average car insurance rates for most Hyundai models aren’t too different from those of many Honda models. And they’re a bit cheaper than many Ford car insurance rates.

If you are finding Hyundai car insurance expensive, though, one reason could be that certain older Hyundai models were prime targets for thieves a few years ago. If you’re trying to buy insurance for a Hyundai from 2015 to 2021, you might pay higher rates because of this — or even have a hard time getting coverage.

With an average rate of $3,477 a year, the Elantra is one of the most expensive Hyundai vehicles to insure.

There are several possible reasons why Hyundai Elantra insurance rates are more expensive than some other models. One is that the Elantra’s popularity makes it a target for theft and can impact insurance costs.

The trim level you choose for your Elantra can play a role, too. If you have or buy the high-performance Elantra N, for example, you might pay higher insurance rates than if you’d bought the standard sedan.

Methodology

LendingTree uses insurance rate data from Quadrant Information Services using publicly sourced insurance company filings. Rates are based on an analysis of hundreds of thousands of car insurance quotes for typical drivers in Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.

  • Bodily injury liability: $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident
  • Property damage liability: $25,000
  • Uninsured motorist: $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident
  • Collision: $500 deductible
  • Comprehensive: $500 deductible

Rates are based on quotes for the following Hyundai models:

  • Accent SE
  • Elantra SE
  • Ioniq 5 SE
  • Kona SE
  • Nexo Blue
  • Palisade SE
  • Santa Cruz SE
  • Santa Fe SE
  • Sonata SEL
  • Tucson SE
  • Venue SE

Our team of insurance experts rated insurance companies based on several categories. These categories include average rates, discounts, coverage options, third-party customer service ratings and app/website experience. We weighted these categories based on what customers value in an insurance company.

For third-party customer service ratings, we included complaint index scores from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and financial strength ratings from AM Best. NAIC complaint index scores are used to determine how satisfied customers are with their claims, while financial strength ratings from AM Best reflect the ability to pay out claims.
