0% intro APR for 21 months from account opening on qualifying balance transfers, followed by a 17.49%, 23.99%, or 29.24% Variable APR
The Wells Fargo Reflect® Card made our list of the top 10 best balance transfer cards for good reason. This card has one of the longest introductory APR periods currently available: 0% intro APR for 21 months from account opening on qualifying balance transfers (afterwards, a 17.49%, 23.99%, or 29.24% Variable APR applies). In addition, the card offers a 0% intro APR for 21 months from account opening on purchases, followed by a 17.49%, 23.99%, or 29.24% Variable APR.
One important thing to note is that the Wells Fargo Reflect® Card does charge a balance transfer fee of 5%, min: $5. This is higher than the average fee of 3% and could substantially cut into your savings.
Then again, the longer intro APR period could more than make up for this pricey fee — especially for those who need more time to pay down a substantial amount of debt.

Before you apply, you should know that Wells Fargo typically only accepts applicants with good to excellent credit. If you’re ready to apply, the following steps can help you get to the finish line.
1. Check your credit score
Checking your credit score can help you determine if you meet minimum credit requirements to be approved. There are several free ways to do this online, including via LendingTree.
2. Compare card offers
Once you know your credit score is in great shape, spend a few minutes comparing the best Wells Fargo credit cards. You should look at rewards rates, sign-up bonus offers, 0% intro APRs and cardholder benefits. If you still can’t decide, check out the “Which Wells Fargo credit card is best for me?” section of this guide.
3. See if you prequalify
You can check to see if you prequalify for a Wells Fargo credit card by visiting the website here. Although prequalification doesn’t guarantee approval, it’s a great way to determine which card(s) will give you the best chance for approval. It’s also important to note that the prequalification process is a “soft credit pull,” meaning it won’t impact your credit score.

4. Apply for the card
Now that you’ve done the research, it’s time to apply. You can apply online, in person at a local Wells Fargo branch, over the phone or by mail. Online applications typically get the fastest response, with mailed applications taking the longest — after that, it’s simply a waiting game. In the meantime, you can always check your application status by calling 800-967-9521.

Unfortunately, Wells Fargo no longer offers a student credit card. Wells Fargo removed the Wells Fargo Cash Back College℠ Card from its card lineup. However, you’ll find that there are plenty of great student credit cards.
Lenders usually pull credit reports from all three major credit bureaus — Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. However, sometimes lenders have a preference for a specific one based on their internal policies or your location. To find out which credit bureaus Wells Fargo currently uses, we recommend contacting Wells Fargo directly.
Since Wells Fargo doesn’t offer a secured card option, none of its card products are “easy to get.” Most cards in the current Wells Fargo lineup require good or excellent credit. If your score is lower than that, we recommend improving your credit score before applying for a Wells Fargo credit card. In the meantime, you can look into getting a secured credit card to build or rebuild your credit.
The best credit cards for beginners are secured credit cards. They’re easier to get if you have a minimal credit history. Wells Fargo no longer offers a secured credit card, but there are plenty of secured credit cards from other issuers.
Typically, you’ll need a good to excellent credit score to qualify for a Wells Fargo credit card — meaning a FICO Score of 670 to 850. If your score doesn’t fall within this range, you might want to look at some of the best credit cards to build credit first. The higher your score is, the more likely you’ll be approved for a Wells Fargo credit card. You can always check your credit score for free on LendingTree.
To select the best Wells Fargo credit cards, our experts compared the credit cards offered on Wells Fargo’s site, as well as the Wells Fargo-issued credit cards on LendingTree.com, including cash back cards, travel cards, 0% intro APR cards and more.
We then chose our top picks based on a variety of factors, including rewards rates, welcome bonuses, annual fees and introductory APRs for purchases and balance transfers. We also looked at the benefits offered by each card, such as cellular telephone insurance, travel insurance benefits and $0 foreign transaction fees.
