What is Visa Infinite?

Visa Infinite is a type of Visa credit card reserved for the most premium credit cards, which offers the best available perks provided by Visa.

Currently, there are only a handful of Visa Infinite cards available in the United States.

Note that card issuers can control which features are available to cardholders. Therefore, it’s always best to confirm with a bank whether or not a particular perk you’re interested in is available on the Visa Infinite card you’re considering.

You can recognize a Visa Infinite card by the logo on the lower right corner of the card.

Is Visa Infinite worth it?

Visa Infinite credit cards come with added benefits beyond the card’s primary perks. However, these cards also carry a premium annual fee, making them more expensive than many other popular rewards credit cards.

Ultimately, Visa Infinite cards are only worth it if you plan to take full advantage of the added perks or travel enough that having added protections makes sense. You can find similar benefits with other credit cards. Visa Signature credit cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card may offer similar benefits for a lesser price tag.

Visa Infinite travel protections

When paying for your eligible car rental with your Visa Signature card, you’ll receive built-in car rental insurance protecting you from theft, physical damage, reasonable and customary towing and loss-of-use charges. You’ll just need to be sure your name is listed as the primary renter on the contract, and that any additional drivers are listed.

If you pay for your nonrefundable trip with your Visa Infinite card and unexpected circumstances cause your plans to be canceled or interrupted, you can receive reimbursement for your passenger fare.

If you pay for a trip with your Visa Infinite card and it’s delayed by more than six hours — or requires an overnight stay — you can receive up to $500 per purchased ticket to cover reasonable expenses. This coverage is supplementary to any travel insurance you’ve purchased.

If you pay for a passenger ticket on a common carrier (an airline, for example) and your checked or carry-on luggage is lost or stolen, you can receive up to $3,000 per covered trip in reimbursement.

If you are missing your check bag for more than four hours, some Visa Infinite cards offer baggage delay reimbursement. You’ll get reimbursed for necessities up to $300, so your trip can get started while you wait for your bag to arrive.

In case of a roadside emergency, you can access 24/7 roadside assistance services that can provide towing, jump-starting and more. But while there’s no cost to access this benefit, you’ll be financially responsible for any services rendered.

If you’re facing an emergency when traveling, you have access to 24/7 travel and emergency assistance services that can refer you to medical, legal and other resources. There is no cost to access this benefit, though you will be financially responsible for any services rendered.

When you use your Visa Infinite card to pay for your flight, you will get Travel Accident Insurance for you, your spouse and dependent children under 23 years old.

Some Visa Infinite cards come with emergency evacuation, which means that you’ll have transportation to the closest medical facility for treatment if you become sick or injured during travel. You’ll be covered up to $10,000.

Hotel theft protection will cover any personal belongings that are stolen from your hotel room in the U.S. or Canada. This benefit is only offered with some Visa Infinite cards, so you’ll want to check your credit card terms to see if this is included.

Visa Infinite purchase and security benefits

Use your Visa Infinite card to pay your monthly cellphone bill for protection over the following calendar month. Coverage varies depending on the card issuer and requires paying a $50 deductible.

When purchasing eligible items on your Visa Infinite card, purchase security will offer a replacement, repair or reimbursement of items that are stolen or damaged up to 90 days after purchase.

When purchasing eligible items that come with a U.S. manufacturer’s warranty (under three years or less) with your Visa Infinite card, enjoy an additional year of coverage with the extended warranty benefit.

When purchasing eligible items on your Visa Infinite card, you can receive reimbursement on items up to $300 if your merchant does not accept a return within 90 days of purchase.

If you come across a print advertisement featuring an item you purchased with your Visa Infinite card at a lower price, you can be reimbursed the difference. Only some Visa Infinite cards come with this additional benefit so you’ll want to check with your card issuer.

If you don’t recognize charges on your Visa Infinite card, you won’t be financially responsible in the event of fraud.

In the event that your card is lost or stolen, Visa can work with your bank to make sure a replacement is shipped to you within 24 to 72 hours.

If you are in an emergency situation and need cash to use immediately, Visa can arrange a wire transfer to your local Western Union within two hours of approval from your bank.

Visa Infinite experiences and lifestyle benefits

Visa Infinite cards now come with a free Shipt membership (enrollment required) until Dec. 31, 2024. Shipt is a premium delivery service for groceries and other household essentials from popular retailers. Cardholders can enjoy free delivery on Shipt orders of $35 or more.
