Wyndham Rewards is the loyalty rewards program for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Members can earn points through hotel stays, events, credit cards and partners. You can also access additional benefits based on your elite status level. Wyndham Rewards points are versatile, but their value can vary depending on how you redeem them. Understanding the ins and outs of the program can help you maximize your rewards.

One way to value Wyndham Rewards points is to compare the value of the points to the value of your redemption. If you’re deciding between using your points and paying in cash, it’s normally worth it if you are getting a value of close to 0.8 cent per point, or more. Earning and using these points is generally a good deal with few negatives.
Hotel | Average value per point |
---|---|
Wyndham Rewards | 0.8 cents |
World of Hyatt | 2 cents |
Choice Privileges | 0.8 cents |
Marriott Bonvoy | 0.9 cents |
Hilton Honors | 0.5 cents |
IHG | 0.5 cents |
There are several different ways to earn Wyndham Rewards points, so no matter how you want to earn points, you are likely to find an option that makes sense to you. Here are a few of the top ways to earn Wyndham points:
One of the easiest ways to earn Wyndham Rewards points is to have a qualified stay at a Wyndham property. For example, you’ll earn 10 points per dollar or 1,000 points (whichever is greater) for qualified stays at most Wyndham Hotels & Resorts or participating vacation club resorts. You’ll earn 5 points per dollar at WaterWalk Extended Stay by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts for each qualified stay in a furnished suit.
Qualified stays typically have to be paid stays booked directly through a Wyndham hotel, not a third-party website. In general, you only earn Wyndham Rewards points based on the room rate, not taxes or fees.
Like many other large hotel chains, Wyndham has a way for meeting planners and organizers to earn additional points. You can earn 1 point per dollar spent on event spaces, guest room blocks and food and beverage charges when you plan a qualifying meeting at a Wyndham hotel.
Hotel credit cards can be very useful if you stay at a brand often. Several Wyndham cards allow you to earn Wyndham Rewards points. You’ll earn points with every purchase and sometimes earn bonus points.
Wyndham Rewards also allows you to buy points in 1,000-point increments. You can purchase them for yourself or gift them to another Wyndham member. A maximum of 100,000 Wyndham Rewards points can be purchased and received in a calendar year.
Wyndham does regularly offer promotions where you can get a discount or earn bonus points when you purchase points, but even with these promotions, buying Wyndham points is not the best way to earn Wyndham Rewards points.
Wyndham also has a variety of partners that allow you to earn Wyndham points. You can earn Wyndham Rewards points by shopping through the Wyndham online shopping portal, taking opinion surveys and taking advantage of tour, activity or rental car partnerships.
Earn up to 10 points per dollar on qualified hotel stays and activities and 1 point per dollar on other travel reservations when you book Wyndham travel packages. Bundle together travel purchases, including flights, hotels, car rentals and activities.
You can also earn rewards with one of the Wyndham Rewards credit cards, or by transferring miles from certain Capital One cards at a 1:1 ratio, like the the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card.

Wyndham Rewards offers a status match program that allows members of other hotel loyalty programs to obtain equivalent status within Wyndham’s program.
If you provide proof of your current elite status with a competing hotel chain, you can receive one of Wyndham’s elite tiers: Gold, Platinum or Diamond. This enables you to enjoy benefits such as late checkout, early check-in, and preferred room choice at over 9,000 hotels worldwide.
How to apply for the status match: Sign in to your Wyndham Rewards account and complete the status match request form, providing the necessary documentation of your existing status. Approval typically takes five to seven days.
The matched status is valid through the end of the calendar year in which it is granted. It’s important to note that Wyndham Rewards members who hold Platinum or Diamond status solely by virtue of being a Wyndham Rewards credit card holder are not eligible to status-match into the Caesars Rewards program.
Wyndham Rewards and Caesars Rewards have a reciprocal status match partnership, allowing members to enjoy equivalent elite status across both programs. The status equivalencies are as follows:
To initiate the status match:
Processing can take up to three weeks. Note that members who obtained their Wyndham status through a status match promotion with other programs or via certain credit cards may not be eligible for this reciprocal match.
Additionally, members must reapply for the status match starting on February 1 of each year.
The most common way to redeem these hotel points is by using them to book a stay with a Wyndham brand. Wyndham has two main ways that you can use points for stays at Wyndham hotels and Wyndham Vacation Club — Wyndham Go Free and Wyndham Go Fast:
With Wyndham Go Free, you pay a specific number of points for a completely free night. There are three different tiers of hotels, each with a different amount of points needed per night.
Location redemption | Points needed |
---|---|
Participating hotels | 7,500-30,000 |
Participating club resorts or vacation rentals | 15,000-30,000 (per bedroom) |
With Wyndham Go Fast, you’ll pay a smaller number of points so you can spend less in cash on the hotel room. The total amount varies based on location and number of bedrooms.

There are a few other ways to redeem Wyndham points, and some of them can be quite lucrative:
Currently, Wyndham Hotels operates 24 different hotel brands:
The Wyndham hotel brand is a part of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc., which is the world’s largest hotel franchise company. Besides Wyndham hotels, the Wyndham parent company also operates several other hotel brands, including Ramada, La Quinta and Days Inn.
No, Wyndham is not a part of Marriott. Wyndham and Marriott are both separate hotel companies with hotel brands. Like Wyndham, Marriott has a rewards program.
The number of Wyndham points required for a free night varies depending on how you use your Wyndham Rewards points. Free nights at the lowest level of Wyndham hotels (Tier 1) cost as little as 7,500 Wyndham Rewards points for a free night.
The easiest way to join Wyndham Rewards is online at wyndhamhotels.com. You can also join by visiting the website of a participating hotel brand, in person at the front desk of a hotel operated by Wyndham or by contacting member services via the contact us page or by calling the Wyndham Rewards Member Services at the phone number 866-996-7937.
There is no cost to join Wyndham Rewards, and you won’t need to pay fees to earn or redeem Wyndham Rewards points.
Yes, you can transfer Wyndham Rewards points to a variety of airline and other partner programs. The transfer ratio varies depending on the redemption option, so you’ll want to make sure to check the Wyndham website for the most up-to-date information.
