Beauty is never fleeting in Denver — it’s everywhere! The city sits near the base of the Rocky Mountains. Roxborough State Park, replete with red sandstone formations and wildlife, is just a short drive away. If you’re looking for adventure, hike Mount Evans, zip line through the mountains or get a tour of the city’s foothills.

Denver has been ranked as one of America’s fittest cities. One report shows that 86% of Denver residents live within a 10-minute walk of a park. Bicycling is a way of life. And there are dog parks, golf courses, swimming pools and tennis courts galore.

Professional sports are big here, and so is team pride. Denver is one of the few U.S. cities with teams in four major sports: the Denver Broncos (football), Denver Nuggets (basketball), Colorado Rockies (baseball) and Colorado Avalanche (ice hockey).

Although its winters can be snowy, Denver, overall, is a pretty sunny city. It sees about 70% sunshine in a given year and experiences an average 115 clear days when clouds in the sky are sparse. You’ll get more vitamin D here than in Orlando.

Skiing is a regional pastime in Denver. The city is just an hour’s drive away from resorts at Echo Mountain, Eldora Mountain and Loveland. Go a little farther, and you can enjoy a ski trip at luxurious resorts in Vail or Aspen.

If you love craft beer, you’ll love Colorado. As of 2017, the state had 348 breweries, the second most in the nation. Denver itself has 148 of them. Plus, the city hosts the Great American Beer Festival, which showcases up to 4,000 beers from hundreds of breweries around the U.S.
